Is it safe to give Telegard access?

The guard logs in like any Telegram app and uses one thing: the list of sessions. Messages, contacts and media are never requested. The key is encrypted, and Disconnect removes it and logs the guard out.

What if I log in from a new phone myself?

Accepted Answer

You get a bot message with “It’s me”. One tap — the device is labelled as yours and stays. Ignore it for the review window and it is terminated; just log in again and confirm.

Question 3

Why can’t it terminate anything during the first 24 hours?

Telegram forbids any fresh session — including ours — from terminating other sessions for 24 hours after login. During that window Telegard still sees every new login, warns you instantly and retries the termination by itself the moment Telegram allows it.

Question 4

Why did a “Telegard” device appear in my Devices list?

That is the guard itself. Telegram only lets an authorized session see and manage other sessions — there is no other way to do it.

I use a VPN. Will it trigger alarms?

Add your VPN exit country, or the region it lands in, to the trusted list once. Impossible-travel checks skip trusted locations.

How do I stop it?

I am an admin of channels and groups. Does it matter?

That is exactly who attackers target. Telegard protects the account that holds the admin rights; the channels stay yours because the account does.

What if Telegard goes down?

Nothing happens to your account. The guard only adds protection; without it you are simply back to plain Telegram. Sessions are never touched while the guard is offline.

Does it work with passkeys, email login or Premium?

Yes. Telegard does not care how you log in — it watches the sessions that result from it.

Where is my data stored?

On our servers in the EU (Germany). Only the encrypted guard session, the session list and the audit log — never your chats.

Can I reuse one setup across accounts?

Yes. Tune the rules once and save them as a preset, then apply it to any account in one click — or start from a built-in one: Strict (terminate everything), Balanced or Watch-only. Auto-terminate, ask-first, impossible travel, profile protection and trusted countries are all yours to shape.

If Telegard itself is breached, do attackers get my sessions?

No plaintext logins are lying around. Each account is stored as an AES-256-GCM ciphertext in a separate vault, apart from everything else, and the part of the system that faces the internet never decrypts them. A breach of the public surface yields ciphertext without the key that unlocks it — and any account can be wiped in one click: Disconnect logs the guard out of Telegram and deletes every stored record. The key itself lives in an isolated key vault, apart from the code and the database, held by a single internal process that has no public interface.
